Det är roligt att läsa s k klassiker. Dels för allmänbildningen skull och dels för att det oftast finns en välgrundad anledning till varför böckerna blivit klassiker. Med Dickens kan man nog inte bli besviken. Jag blev det i alla fall inte.
Nicholas Nickleby är, liksom David Cooperfield och Oliver Twist, ett sammelsurium av typiska karaktärer. Det är personbeskrivningarna har är bäst på och också mest känd för. Själva historien är en saga där det goda kämpar mot det onda och där det goda vinner förstås - trots sämre förutsättningar.
Boken är lång, över 800 sidor. Det märks inte för jag blev så uppslukad och underhållen, nyfiken och berörd, att jag knappt kunde lägga boken ifrån mig = högt betyg!
